Locally owned and iconic neighborhood spots! Not your typical tourist bar but instead places where we love to go and gather with friends, drink, share food, and of course dance. These places still hold the spirit of old Waikīkī.
Suzie Wong’s Hideaway is Waikīkī’s 5-star dive bar. Neon lights, flourescent merch, cheeky tchotchkes that you will want to steal. And of course, a staff of characters that make drinking in dive bars better.
Arnolds Beach Bar has happy hour all day for your vacation drinking pleasure. Open 10 AM – 6 PM and complete with popcorn, hula girls, world-class Mai Tai’s, Tiki Teas, and of course ice-cold Bloody Mary’s
Hulas Bar & Lei Stand has been epitomizing Aloha since 1974. Eat, drink, and be merry. This iconic bar is deeply rooted in the queer community with some of O'ahu’s best entertainers. Drag, dancing, singing and more, the view and the spot are iconic.
Wang Chung’s is everybody’s favorite and friendlies karaoke bar. This is the only place to sing your heart out and drink from the drag queen cocktail list. Late-night singing is therapeutic, fun, and full of queers.
Buho Cocina y Cantina is a Mexican rooftop bar with views and fiestas fueled with tacos and tequila. We dance the night away until 2 AM.
The Pupu House is run by a family who has been in the mix for 18 years. A late-night tiki bar and lounge with a half-off happy hour 8 PM – 10 PM. Pupu means small dishes and the menu is full of local delights and late-night snacks until 1 AM.
